Over 25 years ago, I first stepped into the enchanting TYROL. The landscape, air, culture, food, and lifestyle were so profound, the experience changed the trajectory of my life.
Inspired by this idyllic setting and lifestyle, I retired from a high-powered executive position in New York City and moved our family to Europe. Raising our children in the idyllic setting of Europe and the Alps.
Life eventually brought us back to the East Coast, where I faced surprising physical issues from years of running marathons and doing triathlons. This was a crucial moment that led me to Yoga embarking on a transformative journey that continues to guide my life.
Along this path, just three summers ago, in transit to Austria, I was told my second hip replacement failed and I needed immediate surgery. Undeterred, on crutches, and unable to walk the E-bike allowed me to “climb every mountain, ford every stream” - a nod to ‘The Sound of Music’! I spent my time in the mountains and at STOCK’s healing waters nourishing my mind and body for what was to be a “salvage” operation. There was a chance I would lose my leg.
The third surgery failed. Determined to heal holistically, I dug deeper into Yogic life, immersing myself in Jon Kabat-Zinns’ renowned Mind-Body Stress Reduction Program (MBSR). Deeply rooted in Pranayama, Meditation, and Mindfulness, I trained my brain to develop new neuronal connections, overcoming chronic pain and debilitating physical limitations. Through this transformative life work, I reclaimed my ability to walk, practice, and teach Yoga within a year. Every doctor and surgeon is perplexed, I only respond “It’s all yoga, it’s the power of the mind-body connection”.
I completed my RYT-500 and received National Board Certification in Health & Wellness Coaching. I hold advanced certifications in the Yoga and Wellness space, including Yoga for Chronic Pain, Trauma-Informed Yoga Therapy, Yoga for Athletes, Yoga for Cancer, Functional Nutrition, Brain-Gut Health, Stress and anxiety Management, Yin Yoga, Thai Massage, and Kids' Yoga.
I am thrilled to finally bring all of this healing wisdom and share this unique opportunity of my two passions; The Healing Powers of YOGA and the Zillertal.
Your Retreat Team
Gerhard
Gerhard (Hoerhager) grew up in Ginzling and spent his summers on the Berliner Huette which was managed by his Grandparents and later on by his parents.
At an early age, he discovered his love for rock climbing and turned it into a career. Gerhard is one of the world's most renowned climbers and took climbing to new levels of difficulty.
He is also a certified Austrian Mountain and Ski Guide.
He still climbs frequently, guides clients in the Tyrolean mountains, and manages the "Diggl Climbers and Freeride Farm" which is the family farm he grew up on.
Thomas
Thomas (Lechner) grew up in Mayrhofen and Ginzling, and also spent many summers at the Hut with his cousin Gerhard.
Although he also started to climb and mountaineer with his cousin, his career path took him elsewhere.
His love for science made him pursue a doctorate in Molecular Genetics, and ultimately led him to move to the US, where he met Clare over 25 years ago.
Clare and Thomas have been celebrating their love and life in his beloved mountains and Gerhard and Thomas are thrilled to share them with you.
Gregg
Gregg has been practicing yoga for over fifteen years and received his teaching certification from Saraswati’s Yoga Joint in 2019. Having found yoga after recovering from emergency brain surgery, Gregg brings his passion for practicing yoga to his class. You will find a well-designed class with a focus on breath, fun challenges, effective adjustments, and ultimately the feeling of accomplishment. Gregg enjoys encouraging students to develop physically and spiritually to empower their lives.
When not on his mat, Gregg is with his four daughters on the ski slopes. Hopefully next season in Austria.
Clare and Gregg will elevate your yoga practice through their unique blend of expertise, passion, and mindfulness. With years of experience, they provide personalized guidance.
Their approach integrates intricate techniques and calming philosophies. From alignment adjustments to breathwork strategies, Clare and Gregg have created a retreat that encourages exploration and self-discovery, adventure, wellness, and lots of fun!

I recommend direct flights to Munich, Germany International Airport. Depart in the evening to arrive the next morning. Flight time is 7.5-8 hours so you can get a proper sleep. Alternatively, you can fly to Innsbruck, Austria which is a transfer from any international airport. Transfer Munich to STOCK Resort is under 2 hours. Transfers Innsbruck to STOCK Resort is 45 minutes. I can help you arrange for airport transfers directly to the resort either with STOCK or another trusted company and will negotiate good rates for you (50-140 Euros one way depending on the number of people).

Lots of Yoga gear. You do not need to bring a mat unless you want to. Daytime is casual summer clothing, outdoor activity gear, sunglasses, vests, light jackets, breathable shorts or leggings. You will also want to invest in good outdoor hiking shoes. Whether you are walking in town (all cobblestone streets) or along lakes or mountains, hiking or biking, protect your feet when you are not barefoot in the spa or yoga sanctuary! Appropriate attire for the evening meal is proper etiquette; dresses, skirts, heels/flats, buttoned or collared shirts for men. No shorts, sandals, or sports sneakers. Anything you need you can purchase on-site or in town. Mayrhofen and Finkenberg cater to tourism and have the latest trends in activewear and fashion.

Yes. All food is organically grown and locally sourced. Vegetarian and Vegan options are available all day. Chefs are highly trained and will accommodate any needs or restriction. Just let me know in advance and I will work with them directly on your behalf.

Typical European spa etiquette. No bathing wear is allowed in the spa or sauna/steam cabins. Robes, Slippers, and Towels are provided in abundance. Bathing suits are required in both the indoor and outdoor swimming pools. Robes and Slippers can be worn all afternoon in the Spa and Wellness Sanctuary- never the indoor dining area.

I have booked a various group of rooms and suites for 15 students. I wanted to keep it intimate but diverse enough for everyone to explore and meet new Yogis and Friends. If you want to travel as a Mother/Daughter, Single Male or Single female, Girlfriends, Boyfriends, or Partners there is a place for you. Please contact me to discuss if you are traveling with family and need arrangements before or after the retreat.
